Dorothy "Dorie" Ann Jost Obituary

Dorothy A. Jost, 66, of Salem Lakes, passed away Monday, June 10, 2024 at her home.


Born in Burlington, Wisconsin on November 10, 1957, she was the daughter of Greg and Hazel (nee Westlake) Bush. Her early life was spent in Burlington, where she graduated from Burlington High School, Class of 1975. On January 13, 1990 in Burlington, she was united in marriage to Stephen Jost. Following marriage, they resided in Salem Lakes.


Dorothy worked as a HR assistant with Southern Wisconsin Center and was a member of Burlington United Methodist Church. She enjoyed cross stitch, scrapbooking and making beautiful homemade cards that she gave to family and friends. She enjoyed spending time with her family and her dogs. Dorothy was witty and had a wonderful sense of humor. She was always ready with a joke, bringing many smiles to everyone.


Dorothy is survived by her husband, Stephen; children, Spencer Jost and Kylie (fiancé Shane Baker) Jost; grandson, Weston Baker; siblings, Frances (Art) Hale, Deborah Pingle and Julie Bush; and brother-in-law, Ralph Mueller. She is further survived by cousins, nieces, nephews and in-laws. She was preceded in death by her parents, brother Steven Bush and sister Jackie Mueller.


In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to the family or the Humane Society.


A gathering to celebrate Dorothy’s life will be held on Saturday June 15, 2024 from 10am until 2pm at Schuette-Daniels Funeral Home.
