Kenneth David Leik Obituary

Kenneth David Leik, 78, of Leoni Township, Jackson, Michigan, was found deceased on January 12, 2024, on his property. His was the firstborn of Vivian (née Apsey) and Joseph Leik on April 15, 1945, in Portland, Michigan. He moved to Albion with his family approximately at the age of 8. He graduated from Albion High School and attended Ferris State University. He was medically discharged from the U.S. Navy after a short time.

Being in nature was the place he felt most comfortable. He lived his life the way he wanted. Having a curious mind, his house was filled with a large collection of books on various subjects. He learned about something he was interested in, then put it into practice. He had many occupations and hobbies including fur trapper, carpenter, welder, brick and stone mason, farrier, gardener, photographer and bread baker. He travelled throughout the U.S. on his Harley-Davidson motorcycle. He also visited Canada and Scotland. For a period of a few years, he lived and worked in Odessa, Texas. He looked forward to family reunions on both sides of the family and was known for his big smile, flannel shirt and suspenders.

He is survived by his sisters Patricia (Leik) Alfonso, Nancy Leik, 2 nieces and 3 nephews.

His body was cremated by Vickers Funeral Home, Leslie, Michigan. His ashes were spread outside in nature to complete the cycle of his life. Rest in peace.
