Nancy I. Yuettner Obituary

Nancy Leonard Yuettner, a retired Registered Nurse, passed away peacefully on Saturday, June 8, 2024 at her home surrounded by her family. She was 85 years of age. Nancy was the beloved wife of Clifford A. Yuettner for 64 years. Born in Providence, she was the second of three daughters born to the late Alton T. and Ina M. (Swenson) Leonard.

After working for many years in the nursing field, Nancy left to stay home and raise the five children she shared with her husband Clifford. Once the children were older, she returned to nursing and ultimately retired to the state of Alabama where she and Clifford enjoyed the retired life for almost 30 years.

She was a 1959 graduate of RI Hospital Nursing School and enjoyed many reunion luncheons with her classmates for more than five decades.

Nancy raised her family as members of All Saints Church in Pontiac Village where she was a member of the MMM Club, as well as being a member of a sewing club. She and her husband were avid campers and would travel back and forth between Alabama and Rhode Island in their motor home making numerous camping stops up and down the east coast. They were members of a local camping group and enjoyed visiting campgrounds all over the northeast.

She was musically inclined, playing many instruments including the organ which she donated to the First Baptist Church in Hope Valley when she could no longer enjoy it.

Nancy was the devoted mother of Cheryl Goulet (Phil), Steven Yuettner (Sharon), Timothy Yuettner (Lisa), Rebecca Warner (Michael) and the late Keven Yuettner (Jerry Girouard); cherished grandmother of nine grandchildren Craig, Marie, Kimberlie, Karl, Bryan, Jessica, Aubrie, Christopher and her beloved late granddaughter Shauna; great-grandmother of seven, and great-great-grandmother of one. She was the sister of the late Carol Sjogren and Elaine Fairweather. Nancy will be missed tremendously by all those who knew her and loved her.

A visitation will be held on Saturday, June 22, 2024 from 12-2pm in the Thomas & Walter Quinn Funeral Home, 2435 Warwick Ave., Warwick. Interment will be private in the Rhode Island Veterans’ Memorial Cemetery, Exeter. In lieu of flowers, donations to the American Lung Association, 55 W. Wacker Dr., Suite 1150 Chicago, IL 60601 will be greatly appreciated.
