Bill Eugene Frye, 94, of Conover passed away on Monday, June 10, 2024 at his residence.


He was born December 23, 1929 in Hickory, NC to the late Ralph and China Hamilton Frye. Bill was a member of St. John's Lutheran Church in Conover, where he was an elder and active in church activities. He was a United States Army Veteran and retired as a salesman with Gerber.


In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his wife of 44 years, Imogene Rockett Frye and grandson, Kasey Frye.


Those left to cherish his memory are;


Son: Kevin Frye and wife Melodee of Knoxville, TN


Daughter: Kim Cater of Conover


Grandchildren: Kirk Cater and wife Jennifer of Conover


Great-Grandchildren: Dawson Cater and wife Katie of Conover, Harper Cater of Conover


Great-Great-Grandchildren: MacKenzie Krump and Kasey Cater of Conover


A service to celebrate Bill’s life will be held on Friday, June 14, 2024 at 4:00 p.m. at St. John’s Lutheran Church in Conover. Rev. Anton Lagoutine and Rev. Luke Self will officiate. Burial with military honors will follow in the church cemetery. The family will receive friends prior to the service from 2:00 to 3:45 p.m. at St. John’s Lutheran Church. Those serving as pallbearers will be Chuck Miller, Jim Cater, David Johnson, Brad Wilson, Paul Lane, Kyle Lane, Calvin Whisnant, and Coley Self. Honorary pallbearers will be the St. John’s Lutheran Church Men’s bible study group and card group.
