Kenneth Jeffry Falen Obituary

Kenneth J. Falen, a devoted Christian, loving husband, father, grandfather, and friend, peacefully passed away at his Galion home on June 5, 2024, at the age of 67 after a two year battle with ALS. His faith has become sight as the Lord chose to bring him Home to Heaven.

Born in Ellwood City, PA, on September 28, 1956, Ken was the son of the late Clifford and Maxine (Gordon) Falen. Ken was a hardworking man, serving as a truck driver and an airplane mechanic in the United States Air Force.

Ken is survived by his beloved wife of nearly 39 years, Teresa Jane (Arnt) Falen. The pair met as students at Hyles-Anderson College in Crown Point, IN and were married on August 3, 1985. Ken’s legacy of love and faith continues through his daughter, Autumn Falen of Parma and his son and daughter-in-law, Dustin and Brandy Falen of Attica. Ken was a proud and doting grandfather to his grandchildren Cassandra, Kyle, Gary, Mason, and Jeramiah, who affectionately called him "Pa".

He was a driven man who sought better opportunities for his family and demonstrated his deep faith by giving a tract and a twenty-dollar bill to anyone panhandling. Ken's generosity was legendary; he would literally give someone the shirt off his back.He and his wife learned sign language to volunteer for the deaf community, embodying their commitment to service. Ken drove children to church, showing his dedication to nurturing young faith.

Ken served as a deacon and trustee at Emmanuel Baptist Church in Marion, where he was married to Teresa. His steadfast faith and commitment to his church community were evident to all who knew him. A passionate sports fan, Ken enjoyed cheering on the Pittsburgh Steelers and the Ohio State University football team, celebrating each victory with enthusiasm.

As a grandfather, Ken was deeply cherished. He was also a loving father who encouraged his children to step out of their comfort zones. Ken was known as the "fun parent," teaching his kids to drive a stick shift in the yard and introducing them to go-karts, bobcats, and even canoeing on the river. His stubbornness was matched only by his work ethic and devotion to his family.

Ken is also survived by his siblings Terri Bauer, Barbara Meredith, Clifford Falen, Debra Falen, and Lori (Jeff) Mclallen, and his in-laws Teresa (Ken) Falen, William (Sonja) Arnt, Jr., Larry (Lisa) Arnt, Vickie McCoy Arnt, and George W. Arnt. Ken’s extended family and a host of friends will miss him dearly.

Ken was preceded in death by his parents, Clifford and Maxine Falen; his siblings Bonnie Falen and Scott Falen; his siblings-in-law Bethany (Larry) Dunn and Ronald Arnt; and his in-laws William “Bill” Arnt, Sr. and Gladys Arnt.

Ken's life was a testament to his faith, love, and devotion to family and friends. His memory will live on in the hearts of those who were blessed to know him. A service to celebrate Ken’s life will be held at his church at a future date and in lieu of flowers, the family requests donations be made to Grace Baptist Church, 919 W Thrush Ave, Crestline, OH 44827.
