Marjorie Lou Freeman, 75, of Alum Bridge, went to be with the Lord on Monday, June 10, 2024 at her home surrounded by her family. She was born in Stouts Mills in Gilmer County on December 3, 1948, daughter of the late Cecil and Veda Beatrice (Flint) Hickman.


Forever cherishing their memories of Marjorie are her 4 sons, Travis Steele and wife, Tina of Weston, Scott Freeman and wife, Rose of St. Alban’s, Daniel Hall and wife, Haley of Glenville, and Jamey Hall and wife, Kati of Alum Bridge, 10 grandchildren, Shawn Freeman, Douglas Scott Freeman, Jr. Zach Freeman, Taylor Freeman, Mandy Hall, Hunter Hall, Jaxson Hall, Kasey Parsons, Cole Parsons, and Jacob Steele, 4 great grandchildren, Aurora Freeman, Rylee Smoot, Gracelynn Freeman, and Autumn Freeman, 3 sisters, Veda Lucille Brake and husband, Steve of Weston, Janey K. Vanhorn of Weston, and Beverly A. Kingery and husband, Jim of Charleston, and several nieces and nephews.


In addition to her parents, Marjorie was preceded in death by her companion of 30 years, Virgil Ray Hall, son, Jonathan Steele, 3 brothers, Jerry, Gearl, and Teddy Hickman, and 2 sisters, Lilly Hickman, and Lorena Hickman Stout.


Marjorie was a faithful member of the Valley View Church of the Nazarene of Jane Lew. She enjoyed working crossword puzzles and watching Reba and American Idol on television. Most of all, Marjorie cherished time spent with her family, especially her grandkids.


Family and friends will gather at Hardman Family Funeral Home, 730 N. Main Avenue of Weston, on Thursday, June 13, 2024 from 11 a.m. – 1 p.m. The funeral service will begin at 1 p.m. from the funeral home chapel with Pastor Mark Simpson officiating. Following services, Marjorie’s request for cremation will be honored at Hardman Family Funeral Home’s On-Site Crematory. In lieu of flowers, the family request that donations be made to Hardman Family Funeral Home, P.O. Box 1287, Weston, WV 26452 to aid with funeral expenses.
