Aldena Lockhart Obituary

Aldena Lockhart was born on October 16, 1945, to Earlie Mae Allen and Richard Allen in Detroit, Michigan.

As a middle child Aldena always found her place to dwell in the spaces of either her older or younger siblings with ease. Even the usual quandary of ‘tooyoung’ for some things, or ‘not old enough’ for others never stopped her lust for life. Her courageous spirit often found her taking off on her own path to find her next adventure solo.

Aldena formally accepted Christ as her Savior on June 18, 2022, where she was saved and baptized in the same night at World of Faith church in Detroit. Though always string in her faith in the Lord, this solidified and strengthened her walk. Aldena could often be seen reading her Bible to prepare for her day at work, while often spending her lunchtime, taking energetic walks. Not only for her health but to also spend this time in quiet reflection. Those that chose to engage in conversations about faith, Aldena knew exactly how to make the exchange about God extremely approachable.

Taking various career paths throughout the years, Aldena always gravitated to helping others from her position as Ward Clerk at Henry Ford Hospital in Detroit, and reprising the same role at Superior Memorial Hospital in Superior, Wisconsin. Then after her years of childrearing, Aldena returned to the workforce in customer service at what was then J.L. Hudson corporation until her retirement from Ray Laethem Chrysler, Dodge, Jeep as a telephone operator. Which concluded a work history that emphasized Aldena’s drive to help others no matter the position she held.

It was difficult to tell which hobby Aldena enjoyed more. Regardless of if it was her love of old movies, to being an avid reader, and enjoying all forms of music. This always let to amazing conversations about these topics, that was often intertwined with her amazing sense of humor.

On June 3, 2024, Aldena was called home to be with the Lord. She was preceded in death by Richard Allen her father, Earlie Mae Allen her mother, eldest brother, Edward Earl Allen, her younger brother Vinson Calitier Allen, eldest sister Richetta Terry, and nephew Steve Lamar Terry.

Aldena is survived by those that will remember her gentle nature and infectious laugh, her daughter, April-Michelle Lockhart, youngest sister Gertha Marie Allen. Nephews and nieces Vinson Allen, Jr., Tracye Jean Neal, Edward Earl Allen, 2nd, Rochelle Allen, Richard Allen 2nd, and great-niece LaSheena Futura Terry, with a host of extended family and friends who will never forget the love and joy she brought to their lives.

In lieu of flowers a donation to the American Stroke Foundation and/or the American Heart Association in her memory is requested.
