Edwin Martin Faust Obituary

Edwin Faust of Surprise, Arizona (formally of Lapeer, Michigan), passed away on June 1, 2024, surrounded by family.

He was born June 5, 1945, to Esther Papke and Edwin Faust. He served his country in the United States Army from 1965 to 1967.  Edwin was primarily stationed in Germany and was trained as a multi-engine helicopter mechanic.

He was happiest out in the farm fields and seeing the fruits of his labor. He enjoyed organic farming, working with his hands, growing/selling sweet corn, tending to his garden, and hunting. He loved his family immensely and would do anything for them.

Before taking a job with General Motors, he worked as an electrician. He worked for GM for many years before retiring and moving to Arizona to be closer to his family.

He is survived by his wife of 55 years, Darlene; his daughter Lisa (Darren), son Eric, and grandchildren Braeden and Ava. He is also survived by his brother Gerald Faust and sister Geraldine Carson, both of Lapeer, as well as many nieces and nephews.

Edwin was proceeded in death by his parents Edwin and Esther Faust, sisters Darlene Jennings, Irene Judd, and brothers Gary and Earl Faust.

Contributions may be made in his honor to St. Paul Lutheran Church in Lapeer, Michigan or the Vietnam Veterans’ Association.
