Jean-Guy Doucet Obituary

DOUCET, Jack (Ripper)

It is with heavy hearts we announce the passing of Jack “John/Ripper” Doucet on Saturday, June 8, 2024, at the age of 82. Beloved husband and best friend of the late Bonnie Doucet (née Doan), together they created a beautiful family filled with love and warmth. Treasured father of Tina Pribanich (John), Tammy West (Jim), Shelley Doucette (Dave), and Jason Doucet (Tracy). Cherished Grandpa of Mike, Matt (Leanne), Ashley (Travis), Eden, Karley (Jordan), Meagen, Austin (Rebeka), and Sydney (Larry). Forever in the hearts of his great-grandchildren Emersyn, Akeelah, Imani, Areal, John Jr., Saige and Koa. Loving brother of Renée (Alice), Laurette (George), Jacqueline (Fred), Yolande, and Dennis (Phyllis). Dear brother-in-law of Rejeanne Doucet, Louise Doucet, Rachelle Doucet, Trudy Doucet, Faith Edwards (Ken), Mel Terreberry, and Don Light. Ripper will be missed by many nieces, nephews, extended family, and friends. Predeceased by his parents Daniel and Genevieve Doucet, his brothers Leon, Raymond, Jean-Claude, Marcel, and Clairmont, his in-laws George and Violet Doan, his sisters-in-law Louise and Cheryl.

Ripper worked for the City of Welland for over 40 years, where he made a lasting impact through his hard work and dedication. His passion for hockey was evident whether he was coaching, playing, or cheering on his favorite team the Canadians. Ripper raced stock cars for many years at Humberstone Speedway, where he forged lifelong friendships and unforgettable memories. Above all else, Ripper loved his family, and the time they spent together. His family were not only his pride and joy but also his greatest source of happiness. The family wishes to thank Dr. Rivers and Robyn, the EMS-Palliative Care Unit, Seasons Retirement home and everyone who has provided support during this difficult time.

WELLAND FUNERAL HOME, CREMATION AND RECEPTION CENTRE has had the honour of caring for Ripper and his family. A private ceremony will take place.
