BARBARA ANN MONTANARO

February 26, 1954 – June 10, 2024

Gardiner, NY


Barbara Ann Montanaro, a former longtime Woodbury/Cornwall resident entered into eternal rest on June 10, 2024 at her home. She was 70 years old.


The daughter of the late Henry Roth and Frances (Finn) Roth, Barbara was born on February 26, 1954 in the Bronx, NY.


She was an active member of the St. Patrick’s Roman Catholic Church in Highland Mills and spent years volunteering in Cornwall for the Youth Football Cheerleading organization and also spent years in character at the Sands Ring historical society.


A family statement reads: “As Barbara ascends into Heaven and moves on from this world, may it be a reminder to each of us to enjoy our time together in this life.” She brought so much love and respect into every person she came across and will be missed greatly.


Barbara is survived by her beloved husband: Joseph Montanaro at home; daughter: Lisa (Montanaro) Coppick and her husband Andrew of Highland, NY; Barbara’s sons: Joseph A. Montanaro of Bayville, NY, William Montanaro of White Plains, NY and Justin Montanaro of Caldwell, NJ; her granddaughter: Aurora Coppick; her sister: Evelyn Cea; and her brothers: Fred Roth, Jimmy Roth and John Roth.


Visitation will be held from 2:00 p.m. to 4:00 p.m. and 6:00 p.m. to 8:00 p.m. on Thursday, June 13th at Quigley-Sullivan Funeral Home, Inc., 337 Hudson St. Cornwall-On-Hudson, NY.


A Mass of Christian Burial will be held at 11:00 a.m. on Friday, June 14th at St. Patrick’s RC Church, 445 Route 32, Highland Mills, NY.


Cremation will follow the Mass at Cedar Hill Crematory, Middle Hope, NY.


Memorial Contributions in Barbara’s name may be made to the Tunnel to Towers Foundation, 2361 Hylan Boulevard, Staten Island, NY 10306.
