Cecile Stuckey Ferrell Obituary

Cecile Stuckey Ferrell, passed away on June 11, 2024, at Novant Health New Hanover Medical Center in Wilmington, NC. Born on December 22, 1962, in Hemingway, SC. Cecile's journey through life was marked by her contagious laughter, her beautiful smile, and an unwavering commitment to her family, friends, and faith.

She was the cherished wife of Larry Phillip Ferrell, and together they built a life filled with joy and purpose. Cecile was a devoted mother to her sons, John Michael Collins (Sabre) and Robert Stuckey Mace (David), and she took immense pride in their accomplishments. Her love extended to her grandchildren, Rivers, Reegan, Ryland, Raeleigh, Rowan, and Reid Saylor.

Cecile was the beloved sister of Harold Stuckey Jr. (Yvonne), Phil Stuckey (Nina), Norman Stuckey, and June Stuckey. She was a treasured aunt to many nieces and nephews, each of whom held a special place in her heart. Her best friend, Brenda Mitchell, and her family were an integral part of Cecile's life, sharing countless moments of laughter and companionship. Cecile was preceded in death by her parents, Harold Leroy Stuckey Sr. and Hazel Pullano Stuckey, her grandchild Reice Whitfield Poston, and sisters-in-law Shannon Stuckey and Laurie Stuckey.

A faithful member of Sharon Methodist Church, Cecile's involvement went beyond mere attendance. She was an active participant, embodying the church's values and teachings in her daily life. Her faith was the cornerstone of her existence, guiding her actions, and providing comfort during life's challenges.

Her spirit was as vibrant as the ocean she adored. Her love for the sea was evident in her enthusiasm for everything related to it. Cecile's passion for the ocean was matched only by her love for Christmas. Known for her extraordinary decorating skills, she transformed her home into a winter wonderland each year, showcasing an impressive collection of 14 Christmas trees, each adorned with care and creativity. Cecile's creative spirit was also displayed in her jewelry making, a hobby that allowed her to share her artistic talents with others. To know Cecile was to know joy. Her laughter was infectious, her smile unforgettable.

“I want to age like sea glass, I want to enjoy the journey and let my preciousness be, not in spite of the impacts of life, but because of them.” Bernadette Noll
