Bradley T “Brad” Szymanski, 30, of St. Marys, died June 7 of 2024 while at Penn Highlands Elk emergency department following a major asthma attack.

 

Born November 24, 1993 in St. Marys, he was the son of Christine & Thomas Szymanski.

 

He was a 2012 graduate of Johnsonburg Area High School and went to OVR.

 

Bradley loved picnics with the old neighbors at Duffy Apartments, coloring, riding his bike, walking, cooking, going to Wildwood Bar & Grill with his grandma Rose for Friday Fish dinners, playing music bingo at Wildwoods Bar & Grill hosts by Gigi Entertainment, spending time with his best friends Ray and Shandel Tegano, his classmates new friends that he made after highschool too many to name and he was an athlete for every Special Olympic event held in his area. 

 

In addition to his father Thomas Szymanski, he is survived by his brothers, Ty Szymanski and Christian Szymanski; his uncle's, George Lukaschunis, Pat Regec, David Johnson, Shawn Johnson, Robert Johnson,Glenn Szymanski and Erik Szymanski; and his aunts, Lara Reynolds, Tammy Tettis, Betsy Johnson, Monica Whitfield, Christine Galbraith, Rose Lukaschunis, Millie Szymanski and Stephanie Cox and lots of cousins ; and his stepmom Heddy Stanton, and best friends Ray and Shandel Tegano. His grandparents Bill and Ginny Szymanski also survive.

 

Those preceding his in death are his great-grandparents, grandfather, J.M. Hamlin Johnson; his grandmothers, Sarah “Sally” Johnson and Rose Szymanski; his uncles, Mike Lukaschunis and Paul Lukaschunis; and his mother Christine Szymanski.

 

Furlong Funeral Home, 50 Broad St., Summerville has been entrusted with the final arrangements for Mr. Szymanski.

 

A memorial service will be planned by his best friends Ray and Shandel Tegano to be held at Hallton Church of Christ in Ridgway, PA. at a later date.

 

Memorial donations may be made in Bradley’s memory to Elk/Cameron County Special Olympics.
