John Earl Whitstone Obituary

John Whitstone

       “Jack”

March 13, 1936 – June 8, 2024

Jack. The Man. The Myth. The Legend. The world lost a bright star Saturday evening, June 8, 2024, surrounded by his loving family and close friends, He softly drifted away to Heaven.

He will be sorely missed by his wife, Ginger (nee Browne), and their 6 “rotten” kids, Johnny, Missy, Billy, Theresa, Timmy and Jimmy, and their extremely patient and understanding spouses, Valerie, Robert, Pam, Michael, Susan and Emily. His delightful grandchildren; Jake & Caroline, Emily, Rachel & Fabi, Jenny & Cory, Olivia, Katie, JJ, Shawn & Lizzy, Hannah & Jake, Gareth, Lily, Wyatt, Lincoln, Jackson, and Owen, and his delicious greats; Tessa, Grace, Cora, Delaney, Cam, Taylor, and Carter.

Jack will also be missed by his brothers and their wives, Larry & Jean, Joe & Geri, and sister Eleanor (late Roger Goodspeed). Jack will be joining his family in Heaven, parents Earl & Katherine, sisters, Virginia (late Trino Hernandez), Mary (late Frank Garcia), Ann (Steve Gonzales), and brother Dick (late Chris).

Jack served in the Air Force 1955-59. Jack was a sheet metal worker with Vessel Craft for 20 + yrs. and a Property Manager with Berg Management for 20 + yrs. He was a Boy Scout Leader and Den Master. He was an active member of St. Williams Catholic Church by serving on the Parish Counsel, singing in the choir, and coaching basketball. Jack was a member of the Woodworkers Guild and enjoyed making wooden toys to donate to various agencies.

Jack excelled at humming, fishing, hunting, and woodworking. He enjoyed fishing in Canada with his good friends, Fred & Carol. His favorite getaway was the cottage in Portage. He loved a good family gathering, loved to eat, and loved his family time. He was a man of few words yet was a large presence.
