Funeral Services for Lamar Hastings Jones, age 80, of Carriere, MS, who passed away Sunday, June 9, 2024, will be held Wednesday, June 12, 2024, at 12:00 pm at Union Baptist Church.


Visitation will be Wednesday, June 12, 2024 from 10:00 am until 12:00 pm at Union Baptist Church.


Burial will be in Pearson Cemetery under the direction of McDonald Funeral Home.


Bro. Bruce McKenzie will officiate the service.


A native of Picayune, MS, he was a Construction Superintendent and a member of Union Baptist Church.


He was preceded in death by his parents, Lamar Hastings Jones, Sr. and Blanche Dickerson Jones.


Left to cherish his memory are his loving wife of 59 years, Verla Sue Lee Jones; his daughters, Laurie (Curtis) Broughton and Tonya Jones; his son, Micah Jones; his 5 grandchildren, Justin (Candace) Stewart, Brittany (Josh) Williams, Skylar Broughton, Kelsey Jones, and Tanner (Maddie) Broughton; his 10 great grandchildren, Traci Stewart, Paisley Stewart, Novaleigh Broughton, Swayzee Broughton, Marleigh Stewart, Parker Broughton, Preston Broughton, Porter Broughton, Oakleigh Stewart, and Jude Jones; and his brothers, Tom (Joann) Jones and Richard (Carolyn) Jones.
