Linda Kay Elledge, age 74, of Jacksonville, Illinois, died on Saturday, June 8, 2024 at 10:47 am in Jacksonville.


Linda was born June 15, 1949 in Carlinville, Illinois the daughter of Ivan Leo and Velna C. Smith Ribble. She married Murray Elledge, Jr. on May 29, 1969 in Pittsfield, IL. He preceded her in death on October 5, 2007.


She attended Pittsfield High School, and went on to attain her AAS Degree in Agriculture from John Wood Community College in Quincy. She also attended classes at the Perry Ag Center in Perry, IL.. She was employed by the USDA for soil conservation out of Pittsfield, IL. She had also worked as a teachers aide at Franklin School in Quincy. Linda was a housekeeper at East Side Nursing Home in Pittsfield and had been a waitress at the Red Dome Inn. She was a former team leader at Kepley House in Pittsfield as well as a Girl Scout Leader. Most of all, Linda was a farm wife for over 38 years. She enjoyed cooking for hay crews, canning, gardening, sewing, crafting, and listening to music. She enjoyed volunteering for various community activities. Linda was a long time member of Disciples of Christ Christian Church in Pittfield, where she served as a Sunday School teacher. She was also involved with the church choir and enjoyed hosting youth lock-ins at the church. Linda was also an avid sports fan. Her favorite teams included the Green Bay Packers, St. Louis Cardinals, and the Chicago Bulls.


Survivors include her daughter, Rachel Ann Elledge of Jacksonville, Illinois.


In addition to her husband, she was preceded in death by her parents, and a daughter, Sherri Velina Elledge.


Graveside Inurnment: 10:00 am on Monday, June 17, 2024 in the Griggsville Cemetery, Griggsville Illinois.
