Margaret L. Wright Obituary

Margaret (Lucas) Wright, age 91, of Camp Hill, passed away at her home early on Monday, June 10, 2024, the day after her 68th wedding anniversary. Born in Robertsdale, PA, she was the daughter of the late Mary (Benco) and Andrew Lucas, Sr.

Margaret was a loving wife, mother, and devoted grandmother. She had worked for a time as an Operator Supervisor for Bell Telephone, but took greatest pride in raising and taking care of her family. Her strong love of—and connection to—family led her to frequently return to her hometown area where she loved visiting and catching up with loved ones, and, if she was at home, she made sure no one ever left hungry. She was a longtime member of Good Shepherd Catholic Church, enjoyed bowling in her younger years, and was an avid Penn State and Steelers football fan.

She was preceded in death by her husband, Richard J. Wright, Sr. as well as by her siblings: John, Helen, Mary, Anna, Ethel, Susan, Pauline, Andrew, Paul, and Barbara.

Surviving are her two children, Richard J. Wright, Jr. (Kim) of Camp Hill, PA and Rhonda K. Wright (Tom) of Fairport, NY; three grandsons, Michael Wright (Holly), Clifton Rice, and Scott Wright (Morgan); her sisters, Agnes Lucas and Elizabeth Zelanko; as well as numerous nieces and nephews.

Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated at 11:00 AM Friday, June 14 at Good Shepherd Catholic Church, 3435 Trindle Road, Camp Hill where there will be a viewing from 10:00 AM until the time of Mass. Burial will take place at Broad Top City Cemetery in Broad Top, PA Friday at 2:00 PM.

In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to Good Shepherd Catholic Church, 3435 Trindle Road, Camp Hill, PA 17011.

Margaret’s family would like to thank the caregivers from Homeland Hospice and Synergy HomeCare for the loving and dedicated care provided to Margaret during the last year.
