Cuthbert Baptiste Obituary

On the morning of June 9th 2024, Cuthbert Baptiste went home to be with the Lord.

Born in Grenada , West Indies, he migrated to NY during the 1960s and met his childhood classmate Cecilia whom he later married in 1968.

Cuthbert dedicated many decades to an enjoyable career in the Wall Street area before retiring. But his true passion was his faith , serving God and others. As a devout Christian, he was always the first to visit a sick friend in the hospital, lend a listening ear, or offer a helping hand.

Traveling the world with his beloved wife brought Cuthbert immense joy. Together they visited nearly 30 countries, creating cherished memories along the way. However, his greatest delight came from being a doting grandfather to Ariana and Melvin III. He never missed an opportunity to proudly share stories of their accomplishments, especially his grandson's baseball talents, while showing off photos from his phone.

Cuthbert leaves behind his devoted wife Cecilia, daughter Ali Deena, son-in-law Mel Jr, two adoring grandchildren, and 3 sisters Shirley, Madge and Winifred, several nieces/nephews and cousins.

He touched so many peoples lives. His kind spirit, unwavering faith, and love for his family will be deeply missed by all who knew him.

Memorial service will take place a Church of the Rock, Brooklyn, NY on June 20, 2024.
