Carl Obituary

Santoni Carlo Bass affectionately known as Carl passed into heavenly rest Friday, June 7, 2024 in New Haven, CT.

Carl was born on December 30, 1962 in Clermont, Florida to the late Robert “Chick” Lamar and Janie Mae Bass. As a young child Carl loved to joke, dance, play basketball, draw and hang while hanging with his uncles. Carl observed and absorbed everything that he was taught from them. Their teachings would later be the foundation to mold Carl into a Jack of all trades.

Carl attended school in Mascot, Florida before relocating to Bridgeport, CT after briefly living in Philadelphia, PA.

Carl was educated in the Bridgeport school system; he attended Central High School. Carl was well known for his DJ abilities, flashy dressing and jovial personality. Carl graduated from Central High School and went on to attend Northeastern University in Boston, MA. Where he pursued a dual degree in architectural design and in liberal arts communication.

After finishing at Northeastern University, Carl relocated to College Park, GA where he alongside his uncle George drove long distance trucks. Carl loved his life in the South. He had become a father and visiting Carl was always an adventure. His pet goat Billy, his pit bull and his daughter were sure to keep you on your toes.

Carl eventually moved back to Connecticut where he continued to drive long distances when he wasn't working as a master chef or skillfully building things with his hands. Carl was an avid outdoorsman who never missed an opportunity to fish, hunt or garden. Carl's love for the outdoors was always the talk of family gatherings.
