Deitra Lynn Freeman Obituary

Ms. Deitra "Dee Dee" Gilbert Freeman, age 51, of Dawson, went

home to be with our Lord & Savior on Saturday, June 8, 2024,

surrounded by her beloved family. DeeDee was born on September

6, 1972. She spent the last several years working at Guntersville

Foodland Plus.

She is survived by her mother, Sarah "Kat" Woodside; brothers,

Jeremy Gilbert, Joshua (Megan) Gilbert, Jonathan (Keisha) Gilbert,

and sister, Shawna [Allen) Bates; uncles, Larry Hearn (Gail), Cary

[Brendal Hearn, and Charles Hearn (Debbie); aunt, Rejeana Leeth

[Charles), and a host of cousins, nieces, and nephews. She is

preceded in death by her grandparents, James Talmadge Hearn, and

Sarah Estel Hearn. She was also preceded in death by her father

Steve A. Gilbert, her grandmother Bertha Gilbert, and Uncle Ronnie

Gilbert. Still living aunt Karen (Gilbert) Gerbige, uncles Mike

[Cookie) Gilbert, Terry [Lee Ann) Gilbert with cousins, nieces, and

nephews. A very dear and special friend Marlon Dover, his daughter

Aleia Dover, And son Eli Dover.

Deitra will be having a simple memorial service at Welcome Grove

Baptist Church at 477 0 Co. Rd. 446, Collinsville, al. 35961. This

coming Saturday June 15, 2024, at 2:00 pm. All close family and

friends are invited to attend. Her ashes will be placed in the

cemetery across the road from the church next to her father Steve A.

provide the music.
