Robert “Dan” (Your Friendly Bartender) Holland, age 61, of Bristol, Tenn., bid us goodnight on Saturday, June 8, 2024, at home. He was born on March 9, 1963, in Suffolk, Va., a son of Raymond J. Holland, Sr. and the late Leila Craddock Tompert. Dan received his Bachelor’s Degree from Emory and Henry. He was the bartender for Bonefire in Abingdon. Dan was Scoutmaster for Troop 215, Announcer for Men’s and Women’s Basketball at Emory and Henry, and played in a band “Tequila Mockingbird”. He loved fishing, playing golf, a good bourbon, and the “Grateful Dead”. Dan was a member of First Baptist Church of Blountville.


Survivors include his tolerant wife of 34 years, Bridgette Holland; children, Jesse Holland, Evan Holland and wife Charlotte; father, Raymond J. Holland, Sr. and wife Lenora; step father, Robert Tompert; siblings, Ginger Jabour and husband Jay, Terri Sebastian and husband Deno, Raymond “Jay” Holland, Jr. and wife Tammy; several nieces, nephews, uncles, aunts and cousins.


A celebration of life will be held at 2:00 p.m. Saturday, June 15, 2024, in the Weaver Funeral Home Chapel. The family requests that tie-dye shirts be worn. In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to Emory & Henry College, Attn: Scholarship Fund, P.O. Box 947, Emory, Va. 24327, First Baptist Church of Blountville, Building Fund, P. O. Box 587, Blountville, TN 37617, or the charity of your choice.
