Frank J. Macciocca Obituary

Frank Joseph Macciocca, 58, left this world on June 8, 2024. Frank is survived by his loving parents, Mary Ann and Arnold Macciocca; his brother, Matthew; his wife, Kathryn (Tronsberg) and her children, Kayley and Kyler Tronsberg. Frank now joins his brother, Nicholas, in God’s loving arms.

Frank grew up in Radnor Township, PA, attending Radnor schools K-12. He completed his undergraduate accounting degree at Villanova University in 1989 and simultaneously received his MBA and JD from Widener University. Frank next earned his LLM in taxation at Villanova and rounded out his academic accomplishments with a certificate in communications from La Salle University, 20 years after beginning his coursework.

He received multiple professional law licenses (PA, WY and MI), as well as his CPA (PA). Early in his career, he trained as an internal auditor and served in various auditing positions throughout Philadelphia and the state of Delaware. He practiced as an attorney at the PA Department of Environmental Protection and the law firm of Nicholaus and Hohenadel, LLP in Lancaster, PA, but Frank’s most important professional achievement was his pro bono work and dedication to befriending and helping those on PA death row with their appeals and legal challenges.

Frank and Kathy met at Deloitte, where they both worked in the energy practice; his Philly accent reminded her of her days as an undergraduate in the city. They married in 2009 on Kathy’s favorite day of the year: Feb. 14. Frank was a part of Kayley’s and Kyler’s lives from an early age and they celebrated countless milestones throughout their grade school, high school and college years as a family.

Frank was a life-long Philadelphia sports fan; he had an encyclopedic knowledge of sports history and put his knowledge to good use at trivia nights and at social gatherings. He grew up helping his father and grandfather in the family masonry business and completed several exterior stonework projects alone and alongside his father. He loved professional wrestling and introduced Kathy and her family to the “art” and the “storytelling” of the WWE. Frank also loved Walt Disney World, from his first visit as a teen with his family: it became a family tradition to celebrate holidays and anniversaries there. There will always be a special sparkle in the Magic Kingdom night sky fireworks to make them think of him. Frank’s personal friendships and professional connections in Lancaster meant the world to him, too.

Relatives and friends are invited to attend Frank's viewing on Saturday morning, June 15, 2024 9:30-10:45 AM in St. John Neumann Church 380 Highland Ln, Bryn Mawr, PA 19010 followed by his Mass of Christian Burial 11:00 AM. Interment will be in Sts. Peter and Paul Cemetery, Springfield, PA.
