Lois Scabis Obituary

Lois (Hershman) Scabis, age 89, of Allison, PA, formerly of Penncraft and Fairbank, passed peacefully on Saturday, June 8, 2024 with her family by her side. She was born in Brownsville, PA on August 29, 1934, daughter of the late Kenneth A. and June (Shaffer) Hershman.

She was a lifelong member of the Allison Christian Church, serving on numerous committees, including Christian Women's Fellowship and singing in the choir. She was a member of the church dartball league. She also enjoyed bingo, bowling, and watching the Pittsburgh Pirates. Lois was devoted to her family and loved spending time with her grandchildren.

Besides her parents, Lois was preceded in death by her husband of 60 years, Philip Angelo Scabis; sisters, Arlene Rutherford and Leila Guldin; brothers, George, Kenneth, and Ronald Hershman.

Left to cherish her memory are her four children, Philip Alan (Kathy) Scabis, Loreen “Lori” (Paul) Rosneck, Rhonda K. (Robert) Briggs, and Lana Konopka; her 10 grandchildren, Philip (Dana) Scabis, Christopher Scabis, Alexander Scabis, Kaitlin Scabis, Adam (Brittany) Rosneck, Nicholas (Mallory) Rosneck, Michael (Heidi) Brashear, Cory (Allison) Brashear, Nevin Konopka, Nolan Konopka; eight great- grandchildren, Jackson and Andrew Scabis, Everly and Enzley Rosneck, Tristan and Embry Brashear, Charlie and Claire Brashear; step great-grandchildren, Sebastian, Teddy, and Ella; brother, Darrell (Mary) Hershman; sister-in-law, Nina Panko; also survived by nieces and nephews.

Family and friends will be received at the Allison Christian Church, 452 East Avenue, Allison, PA on Wednesday from 10 AM until the Funeral Service at 12 Noon, with Pastor Michael Peton officiating. Interment to follow in LaFayette Memorial Park. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to Allison Christian Church. www.dearthfh.com.
