William "Bill" H. Toner Obituary

William “Bill” H. Toner, 70, of Bellefonte, passed away on Friday, June 7, 2024, at Mount Nittany Medical Center in State College. Born on May 12, 1954, in Bellefonte, he was the son of the late William R. Toner and Grace (Ishler) Harter, who survives at her home.


Bill was a 1972 graduate of Bellefonte High School. He worked as an electrician for Cerro Copper and Brass for 24 years until his retirement. After retiring, he went back to work for Strouse Electric for 10 years.


He is survived by his fiancée, Rebecca Quick, his son William Toner, Jr. (Alissa) of Zion, stepsons, Scott and Jamie Mix, and one granddaughter, Mikayla Toner, and step grandchildren, Azalynn, Tanner, and Nathan Mix. Also surviving are two sisters, Sharon Tressler and Darlene Swarmer (Richard), and a brother, Melvin “Butch” Harter, all of Zion.


In addition to his father, he was predeceased by a half sister, Karen Toner, on June 18, 2012, and his stepfather, Melvin Harter.


Bill always loved to be outside, especially hunting and riding motorcycles when he was younger, and boating while he lived in Florida. He also enjoyed going to the races and sharing that passion with his family.


Funeral and burial services will be private at the convenience of the family. Arrangements are under the direction of Wetzler Funeral Service, Inc. in Bellefonte.
