Hershel Lincoln Keener Obituary

Hershel Lincoln Keener, 89, of Hot Springs, went to be with the Lord on June 5, 2024. He was born on June 22, 1934 in Avant to Walter Jackson Keener and Stella Parthina (Partain) Keener. He was a faithful Christian. Hershel enjoyed deer hunting, fishing, and traveling the country. Later in life, Hershel took up painting, and won several ribbons for his artwork.


He is predeceased by his parents, his wife of 62 years, Stella Faye Keener, daughter, Sherry Tarron, and wife, Faye Kizzer Keener, of three years.


Loving survivors include his son, Terry (Debbie) Keener, of Hot Springs; daughter, Tammy (Gary) Bates, of Mobile, AL; son-in-law, Gene Tarron, of Hot Springs; grandchildren, Scarlet Tarron, James (Megan) Tarran, Christina (Ben) Atherton, Jackson (Cherish) Keener, Katrina LeCompt, Theresa (Jimmy) Ivy, and Tonia (Jack) Williamson; 15 great-grandchildren; and a host of other family members and friends.


Visitation will be at 5:00 p.m. to 7:00 p.m., Tuesday, June 11, 2024, at Caruth-Hale Funeral Home.


Funeral services will be at 2:00 p.m. on Wednesday, June 12, 2024 at Caruth-Hale Funeral Home. Brother Roger Harper will officiate.


Burial will be at Mountain Valley Cemetery.


Pallbearers will be Allen Keener, Brian Keener, Jimmy Ivy, Jerry Keener, Randy Norman, and Mearl Castleberry.


Honorary pallbearers will be the staff of Montgomery County Nursing Home.
