Patrick F. Marlette Obituary

Patrick "Pat" Marlette, a man of quiet demeanor and sharp intellect, passed away unexpectedly on June 10, 2024, in Greenville at the age of 71. Pat, known for his analytical mind and handy skills, was a beloved husband, family member, and friend who left a lasting impression on those fortunate enough to know him.

Pat was born to the late Milton and Mildred (Farrell) Marlette and was preceded in death by his brothers Farrell, Edward (Virginia), and Ken Sr. (Charlene), as well as his sisters Glenda (Fred) McDonald, Kayleen Colson, and Quema Marlette, he was preceded in death by his father-in-law and mother-in-law, Nort & Donna Roberts, and sisters-in-law, Pam Hansen and Jane Spear.

Pat’s life was enriched by his marriage to Nancy Roberts McClintock, who survives him, as well as his brothers-in-law and sisters-in-law, Jackie (Don) Hagen, Jerry Roberts, Jim Roberts, Julie (Brian) Baragrey, nephews, Scott Morris and Todd Marlette, along with many more nieces and nephews.

Pat's professional life was as an electrician, a trade in which he excelled and proudly held his Electrician's Journeyman card. He dedicated many years of service to Gibson's, where he was not only a skilled worker but also a friend to many. After his retirement, Pat remained a familiar face, often visiting his former co-workers and sharing memories of their time together.

Though a man of few words, Pat's presence was always felt. His interests were a reflection of his personality—simple yet profound. He had a passion for Corvette cars, a testament to his appreciation for craftsmanship and design, which he often admired at the Gilmore Car Museum. Road trips were a favorite pastime, offering him the freedom to explore and the pleasure of new experiences.

Pat's love for his family was evident in the gentle way he would pick on them, a sign of his endearing and playful nature. He kept up with current events, regularly watching Fox News and browsing videos on his phone, always staying informed and ready for a good discussion.

One of Pat's most charming traits was his love for turtles. He was the kind of man who would stop his car to help these slow-moving creatures safely across the road, a small act that spoke volumes about his character. His kindness extended beyond his human acquaintances to the animal kingdom, showcasing his compassionate spirit.
