Stewart Thomas Christ Obituary

Stewart Thomas Christ passed away at home on June 8, 2024 surrounded by his loving family after a valiant fight against cancer.

Born March 2, 1950 to Doris (Stewart) and Raymond Christ and raised in Western Pennsylvania.

Stewart served his country as a Marine in Vietnam from 1968-1969, when he was honorably discharged with three Purple Hearts. He was proud to have served with so many honorable men, whom he cared for deeply. He loved to meet weekly with his veteran friends for coffee and camaraderie. Stewart was a mentor and supporter of many veterans as well as a sponsor for those joining AA. He had a talent for taking his challenges and using them as strengths.

Stewart held many careers over his lifetime. He was a Marine, a pilot, a respiratory therapist, a writer for several newspapers, and a carpenter. After retiring, he could be found doing handyman jobs to help the elderly in his neighborhood.

Stewart had many lifelong precious friendships that he tended to carefully. Some of those friends beat him to Heaven and he leaves many behind as well. He will be remembered for is unbelievably quick wit and endless supply of jokes. He went out of his way to leave everyone he came across with a smile, a compliment, or an unexpected treat- like weekly bagels for the staff at the cancer center.

Stewart’s shining role in life was as a father, husband, and grandfather. He cherished his family with every fiber of his being and it showed in everything he did. His daughter Rachael was the light of his life.

He is survived by his beloved wife Kathy (Noakes) Christ, daughter Rachael (Joseph) Gianfagna, daughter Chloe (Rosemary) Krimmel, son Clifford (Jill) Krimmel, and grandkids Anna, Benjamin, Eleanor, Nash, Emilia, Marissa, and Samantha. The way they will miss him is unexplainable.

In lieu of flowers, donations can be made to the VFW or T2T.org in Stewart's memory.
