Sharon Smith, age 70, of Cahokia, died Saturday, June 8, 2024 in Belleville.


She was born March 10, 1954 in Alton, the daughter of Phyllis (Goebel) Catterson of Granite City and the late Floyd Catterson. She married Delbert Smith Sr. He preceded her in death in 2014.


Besides her mother, she is survived by three children: Melisa Smith of Belleville, Jerry Smith (Theresa Wilson) of Dupo and Delbert Smith, Jr. of St. Louis; ten grandchildren; five great-grandchildren; seven siblings: Gary Catterson of Belleville, John Catterson, Terry Catterson, Larry Catterson, all of Granite City; David Catterson of Vandalia, Carolyn Smith (the late Junior) of Seneca, MO and Linda (Steve) Brewer of New Athens.


Besides her father and husband, Sharon was preceded in death by a son, Jamie Smith and a sister, Vicky Smith.


According to her wishes, she will be cremated and no services will be held.
