Gary Lavery Obituary

A resident of Chatham, Gary Lavery peacefully passed away on Saturday, June 8, 2024 at the Chatham-Kent Health Alliance at the age of 78.

Gary was the son of the late Arthur & Bertha (nee Carrier) Lavery.

Dear husband of the late Ruth Lavery (nee McAllister, 2015) & dear companion of Joan Teeuwen (nee Tuckwell).

He will be missed by several good friends.

His presence will be dearly remembered always by the Teeuwen family.

Gary retired with International Harvester as a Draftsman after 30 years. He was a former member of the Kent Historic Auto Club and other organizations around Chatham-Kent. Gary enjoyed spending his time woodworking, creating anything that was requested. An angel on earth, his smile would light up a room and would help anyone who needed it. His genuine presence, humble nature, charismatic personality and humor will be dearly missed by all who knew him.

The family would like to extend their sincere appreciation to the ER & Continuing Care staff of the Chatham-Kent Health Alliance for their care and compassion.

Family to receive friends on Thursday, June 13, 2024 at the Funeral Home, 459 St. Clair Street, Chatham from 10:00 am until a Celebration of Gary's Life at 11:00 am. Cremation has taken place with a Private Family Burial at a later time.

In memory of Gary, donations may be made to the Canadian Cancer Society or the Chatham-Kent Hospice Foundation.
