Charles Raymond Buffington, II Obituary

Charles Raymond Buffington II (Ray), 69, of Martinsburg passed away on Saturday, June 8, 2024. Born October 6, 1954, in Martinsburg, he was the son of Charles R. Buffington and Ruth O. Buffington.


After graduation from Martinsburg High School in 1973, Ray began a professional sales career with PepsiCo Beverages North America, later employed by Hagerstown Canteen Food Service and finally retiring from Valley Proteins in Winchester, Virginia in 2019.


Ray was an avid outdoorsman who enjoyed hunting and fishing. He was in his element when he was in the woods. His love for the outdoors began as a boy when he joined the Boy Scouts and attained the Eagle Scout rank. Later in life he particularly enjoyed hunting with his buddies and spending time with them at hunting camp.


Ray is survived by his daughters, Nicole Buffington-DeMarco (Larry), Natalie Copenhaver (David), and Ashley Berens (Blake); four grandchildren, Laken, Cameron, Brielle and Alexa; a brother, John Robert Buffington (Susanne), and sister, Faith B. Power (Curtis) and his life partner, Donna Himes and his beloved dog, Jorgie.


In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his sister, Helen Elaine Buffington.


A viewing will be held on Thursday, June 13, 2024 at 10:00 am at the Brown Funeral Home, followed by services at 11:00 am and interment at 12:00 noon at Rosedale Cemetery.
