Joan "Joni" Andrea Shifflett Obituary

Joan (Joni) Andrea Shifflett went to be with the Lord on June 7, 2024. She was born on November 20, 1965 to the late Robert A. Litton and Dale Anne Litton.

Joni was a loving wife and mother. In her life, she had many passions. She loved her Coca Cola, the beach, and Kerr Lake. She loved teaching children and served on the admin board at Norfolk Federation of Teachers, where she was involved in many local and a presidential election campaign.

She loved to cook, travel, spend time with her friends, but her greatest love was her family—especially her grandbaby, Braelyn, who refers to her as Wawa.

Left to cherish her memory: her husband, Mark; her son, Miles and his wife, Katie; sisters, Terrie and Joy; brothers, Tim, Billyjoe, Marcus, and Raymond and their spouses; as well as many cousins, nieces, and nephews.

The family will receive friends from 6pm-7:30pm on Wednesday, June 12, 2024 at Hollomon-Brown Funeral Home, Tidewater Drive Chapel. A graveside service will be held at 11am on Thursday, June 13, 2024 at Forest Lawn Cemetery. Condolences may be offered to the family at www.hollomon-brown.com.
