William "Conley" Rhodes Obituary

William “Conley” Rhodes, age 62, of Hays, passed away, Friday, June 7, 2024, at his home. Mr. Rhodes was born in Wilkes County, North Carolina on September 11, 1961, to Paul Eugene and Alma Brown Rhodes. Preceding him in death are his parents, siblings, Joyce Cothren, and Roger Dale Rhodes. He was a member of Eastside Baptist Church. Activities he most enjoyed were camping, and fishing. He was a good carpenter, loved to travel, meet people and was very outgoing.


Those left to cherish his memory are his spouse, Susan Diane Ashley Rhodes, of Hays, children, Jerry Allen Ball, of Purlear, and Karen Diane Spriggs, of Hays, siblings, Tommy Lee Rhodes, Kenneth Ray Rhodes, (Debra), Paul Eugene Rhodes, Jr., (Debbie), James Curtis Rhodes, (Terry), Sandra Gayle Byrd, and Vickie McGrady. Nine grandchildren, several nieces, and nephews, also survive.


A funeral service will be held 1:00 p.m., Tuesday, June 11, 2024, at Miller Funeral Chapel with Pastor Michael Harless officiating, also speaking is Conley’s nephew, David Carson. Burial will follow in Mountlawn Memorial Park. The family will receive friends from 12:00 to 1:00 at Miller Funeral Service, prior to the service. Flowers will be accepted.
