John K. Kamplain Obituary

John K. Kamplain was born one of eleven children of George and Lena (Wesley) Kamplain, in Flat Rock, IL; attended Flat Rock grade School and graduated Robinson High School with the Class of 1952.

On July 1, 1954, John married Joyce V. Stevens and they began their life together working, raising a family and working various jobs in the area.

Survivors include a daughter, Cynthia “Cindy” Sepula of Reddick, IL and two sons Randal (Norma) Kamplain of Reddick, IL and Russell (Chris) Kamplain of Steger, IL; Six Grandchildren and 9 great Grandchildren as well as several nieces and nephews.

John was preceded in death by his parents; his wife Joyce V. Kamplain in 2018 and a son Danny Kamplain in 1958.

Years ago, Dad had the insight to make the move north to better provide for his family, but still stayed close to his roots. He went to work for Ford Motor Company for thirty years, retiring in 1995.

When John wasn’t working, he loved fishing, and going to the tractor and thrasher shows. In his younger days, he loved to hunt, and later hunting with his sons and then his grandsons. In his last years, he loved sitting on the deck, looking out over the water, and watching all the ducks and geese.

Graveside services for John Kamplain will be conducted Friday June 14, 2024, at 12:00 noon at the Robinson New Cemetery with Pastor Jason Safirt officiating. Visitation will be from 10:00 am until Service time at 12:00 Noon.

The family suggests memorial contributions in John’s memory be made to Uplifted Care Hospice, 482 Main St NW, Bourbonnais, IL 60914, with envelopes available at the funeral home and graveside.
