Nancy Jane Tanner Obituary

Nancy Jane Tanner, age 84, of Bristol, Va., went to be with the Lord on Friday, June 7, 2024, in the Bristol Regional Medical Center. She was born on October 4, 1939, in Glade Spring, Va., a daughter of the late Glenn and Charlotte Pauline Ratliff Dishman. Nancy was a lifelong resident of the Bristol area and worked as a CNA. She attended Shakesville Church of Christ and enjoyed crocheting in her spare time.


Along with her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, Frank Kirby Tanner; son, Sherman Holmes; and sister, Ruth McVey.


Survivors include her children, Denise Francisco and husband Hounie, Joyce Malone and husband Russell, Brandon Bowman and wife Tamara, Mark Bowman and wife Martha; grandchildren, Mariah, Jenna, Bonham and Connor; several step grandchildren; brother, Herb Dishman; sister, Elaine Oliver; and several nieces and nephews.


A graveside service for Mrs. Tanner will be held 11:00 a.m. Monday, June 10, 2024, in Beidleman Cemetery with Pastor Dylan Holly officiating.


Arrangements have been made with Weaver Funeral Home and Cremation Services.
