Lynne A. Margolin Obituary

Lynne Allison (Koppenhaver) Margolin Howard, age 71, died unexpectedly on June 7, 2024 at her

home in W. Islip, NY. Raised in Pennsauken, NJ, Lynne graduated from Pennsauken High School

in 1971. After high school, Lynne received her Bachelor’s Degree in Psychology from Gettysburg

College (Phi Beta Kappa) and her Master’s degree in Education from the College of William and

Mary. Lynne embarked upon her teaching career in VA, and later in NY; and retired in 2018 from

the Half Hollow Hills School District in Dix Hills, NY, where she taught for 22 years.

Lynne was a loving & nurturing wife, mother, and grandmother (Oma) who was happiest when

with her husband Mike, her children, grandchildren & close friends. She enjoyed frequent visits

to Annapolis and trying anything on the menu that contained CRAB! When in Ocean City, NJ, her

favorite stops were mini-golf, Kohr Brothers ice cream, and of course, the beach. Lynne loved

movies, Broadway shows, getting together for Navy & Penn State football games, flowers

(especially sunflowers), and her doggies. Lynne’s favorite song was “Humble & Kind” by Tim

McGraw, and that was how she lived her life. Everybody loved Lynne. Her friends, “the Beauties”

were many of her favorite people & supported her through some difficult times, for which she was

extremely grateful. Lynne was a cancer survivor and a brave warrior through a recurrence.

Lynne was predeceased by her parents Margaret (Wahl) and Stanley Koppenhaver, and her son

Brett Margolin. She is survived by her husband Michael Howard, children Kyle Margolin, Clay

Margolin (Kathryn), & Lane Burns (Taylor); grandchildren Kieran Margolin, Mara Margolin, Eden

Margolin, Romy Margolin, Thea Margolin, Blake Burns & Logan Burns; her step-daughters Ashley

(Howard) Gelling (Kyle) and Lauren Howard, her cousin/”sister” Maureen Deam (Brian) and her

ex-husband, James Margolin.

In lieu of flowers, contributions may be made in Lynne’s memory to the Breast Cancer

Research Foundation | BCRF or the charity of your choice.
