Larry Lewis Smith Obituary

Larry Lewis Smith, 79, of Wheeling, WV, passed away peacefully, Wednesday, June 5, 2024 at home with family by his side.

He was born in Wheeling, on November 15, 1944, a son of the late James "Bud" and Helen (Meals) Smith. Larry was a proud U.S. Navy Veteran. Following his military service he began a very long career at Sheet Metal Workers Local Union #33, starting On October 1, 1966 until is retirement on December 1, 2007. Larry had a wonderful group of friends who would visit him often in the days leading up to his passing. His family will always imagine him saying "just one more", when being called to come home from one of the numerous Wheeling Island drinking establishments. Larry has always said he would never leave the Island, and he kept his word.

Larry will be greatly missed by everyone who knew him and will be remembered for his sense of humor and his signature grin. His grandchildren will never forget the smell of bacon throughout the house, awakening them at 4 am.
