Lillian "Louise" Smith Thompson, 94, of Liberty passed away peacefully on June 6, 2024, at AuthoraCare Collective Hospice Home. 

Louise was born in Guilford County on July 26, 1929, daughter of the late Marvin Smith and Lillian Clapp Smith. She was a homemaker, loving wife, mother, aunt and friend to everyone in her family. Louise was a member of Mount Pleasant Methodist Church, enjoyed quilting, classic cars, especially going to the shows with her son in their Camaro and Oldsmobile 442 but mostly just spending time with her family. 

In addition to her parents, Louise was preceded in death by her husband Herbert Jasper Thompson, Sr., a brother Buddy Smith and her sisters Marcia Hicks and Peggy Gerner. 

Surviving is her son Herbert Jasper "Jay" Thompson, Jr. and numerous nieces, nephews and family members. 

A Celebration of Louise's life will be held at 12 noon on Wednesday at Omega Funeral Service & Crematory Chapel with Pastor Andy Clapp officiating. The family will receive friends from 11 am until the time of the service at the funeral home and all other times at the home of Jay Thompson.
