William "Bill" Henry McBride Obituary

Mr. William “Bill” Henry McBride 93, of Haw River, NC passed away on June 7, 2024, at Compass Healthcare and Rehab in the Hawfields Community. A native of Alamance Co. NC, he was the son of the late Burley Howard McBride and Lillian Maude Jones McBride and was the husband to his love, the late Judy Alcon McBride. Bill was retired from Burlington Industries as a shipping clerk and will forever be remember for his glorious sense of humor. Bill was an avid outdoorsman, loving to fish, hunt and tell old stories about his favorite Beagle Dog, Susie. He was a proud veteran of the US ARMY serving in the Korean War and being awarded the Purple Heart for his heroic combat duties. Bill loved his family with all of his heart, but nothing put a smile on his face like his grandchildren. Survivors include his daughter, Pattie Talley; his son, Frank Howerton and wife Barbara, his grandchildren, Jason Howerton and wife Nicole, Jill Cates and husband Brad, and Todd Talley and wife Heather; his great grandchildren, Hunter, Cale, Connor, Braydon, Luke, Jase, and his sweet Ava; a sister-in-law, Judy A. McBride; nieces, Tammy Webster, and Teresa Graves; nephews, Barry Cox and wife Amy and Danny Stuart and wife Debbie, and many loving great nieces and nephews. In addition to his parents and wife, he was preceded in death by his sisters, Barbara Cox, Jean Stuart, and Betty Jo McBride; his brother, James McBride. A funeral service will be held at 12:00 Noon on Friday June 14, 2024 at the McClure Funeral Home Chapel with his son, Frank Howerton officiating. Burial will follow alongside his loving wife at Alamance Memorial Park. The family will receive friends one hour prior to the service on Friday at the funeral home. In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to AuthoraCare Hospice at 918 Chapel Hill Rd. Burlington, NC 27215 or to National Multiple Sclerosis Society (NC Chapter) at 2610 Wycliff Rd Ste 101, Raleigh, NC 27607. McClure Funeral Service in Graham is assisting the family.
