Richard Leon Turner, 83, of Huntington, WV, passed away on Friday, June 7, 2024, at Legacy of Riverview in South Point, Ohio. Born on July 23, 1940, in Huntington, he was the son of the late Mary Turner. In addition to his mother, he was preceded in death by his wife, Betty Jo Turner; brother, Jack Turner, and son-in-law, Russell Spurlock. Richard enjoyed fishing, hunting, and gun trading. Above all, he loved making his grandchildren laugh. He is survived by his stepchildren, Candace Spurlock, Tammy Barnett, Cindy (Bob) Fruda, and Kelly Nichols; grandchildren, Tara (Brian) Tomblin, Shaun (Emily) Spurlock, Phillip Barnett, Nathan Barnett, Joanna Fruda, and Dakota Nichols; great-grandchildren, Olivia Miller, Madison Spurlock, Gavin and Colton Tomblin, and Andrew, Preston, and Summer Barnett; siblings, Don Turner, Judy Marshall, Shirley Keller, Barbara Smith, Joann Turner, Debbie Wheeler, Bettie Lewis, and numerous nieces and nephews. Per his wishes, no services will be held. Schneider-Hall Funeral Home and Crematory in Chesapeake, Ohio, is assisting the family with arrangements.
