Jessie A. Montgomery Jr., age 77 of Haynesville, LA passed away Friday, June 7, 2024 at Claiborne Memorial Medical Center in Homer, LA.  Jessie was born on October 31, 1946 in Magnolia, AR to the late Opal Ernestine Smith Montgomery and Jessie A. Montgomery Sr.

He was a U.S. Air Force veteran, having served nine years during the Vietnam War Era.  He enjoyed fishing and especially loved to aggravate everyone and make them laugh.  He loved spending time with his wife and visiting with his family.

He was preceded in death by his father, Jessie A. Montgomery Sr., his mother, Opal Ernestine Slack; step father, Ralph Slack; a son, Marty Montgomery, and a sister, Sylvia Jean Hughes.

Survivors include; his wife of 58 years, Elaine Montgomery of Haynesville; two daughters, Wendy Bishop (James) of Haynesville, LA, and Jeanie Foster (Charles) of Blanchard, LA; one son, Billie Montgomery (Becky) of Shongaloo, LA; grandchildren, Marsha Franks (Josh), Shelly Tripp (Reed), Sharee Freeman (Jeremy), Jessica Montague (Dustin), Elaine Zettler (Josh), Ray Ann Bishop (Bradley), Dusty Montgomery, Jeremy Sampson (Deztiny); nineteen great grandchildren; one brother, Robert Joe Slack of Sterlington, LA; and one sister, Sue Bagwell of Arcadia, LA.

A private family memorial service will take place at a later date.
