Stanley Glenn Roe Obituary

Cheek - Graveside services for Stanley Glenn Roe, 58, of Cheek are scheduled for 10:00 AM Saturday June 8, 2024, at the Cheek Cemetery with Rev. Darryl Howard officiating. Family visitation will be held 6 to 8 pm Friday evening at Alexander Gray Funeral Home of Wilson.

Stanley was born to this life Jan. 9, 1966, at Ardmore to the late Samuel Giles Roe and Gertie Marie (Bondurant) Roe. He passed from this life on Monday June 3, 2024, at Oklahoma City.

Stanley was raised in Cheek attending school at Lone Grove. In his earlier years he always enjoyed Coon hunting and fishing and was always an avid Cowboy. Stanley had a special connection with horses and mules, working for several area ranches where he primarily trained horses. In later years Stanley was employed at the local sale barns where he was known for riding a mule to sort cattle. He was one of the last who would still haul his mule in the back of his truck, or ride it to work, crossing the Red River bridge on his way to the Gainesville sale barn. Among day work and sale barn sorting, Stanley had done environmental clean-up jobs work for Hulls Enviromental and A Clean environment, both of Wilson. Stanley will be remembered for being one of the last of his kind, who never backed down from a challenge and enjoyed simplicity.

He was preceded in death by his parents, Sam and Gertie Roe; sister, Glenda Williams and brother David Huckaby.

Survivors include his daughter, Ashley Yeager of Ardmore; sons, Matthew Roe and wife Angie of Lone Grove and Landon Blanchard and wife Tami of Gatesville, TX; sister, Sarah Morgan and husband Ray of Lone Grove; brothers, Sammy Roe and wife Betty and Anthony Roe, both of Cheek; Six grandchildren with one more on the way; numerous other family and friends.

Casket bearers are Justin Felts, Lester Robbins, John McReynolds, Jeremy Stegall, Aaron Roe and Matthew Roe.

Honorary Bearers are all of his many friends and family.
