ONICA, EMILY ANN, age 26, of Mt. Pleasant, passed away Thursday, May 23, 2024.

Emily was born March 28, 1998, in Mt. Pleasant, the daughter of Randall and Cynthia (Benn) Onica. Emily graduated from Mt. Pleasant High School with the class of 2016. Following graduation, Emily earned her bachelor’s degree with honors from Walden University and worked in the healthcare industry. Emily was a hard worker in all aspects of her life; she remained a straight-A student while currently working on her master’s degree in counseling at CMU and excelled in every professional position she ever held. Emily was a talented singer, writer and poet with an amazing sense of humor. She loved her family most and was an avid dog-lover, especially Dachshunds.


Emily is survived by her parents, Randy and Cindy Onica of Lake; brother Adam (Ellen) Onica of St. Louis, Missouri; and many aunts, uncles, cousins, and close friends.


Emily was preceded in death by her maternal grandparents Lynn and Judy Benn; and paternal grandparents Beverly and John Onica.
