Louis M. Mscisz, known affectionately as Louie to his friends and family, passed away peacefully at home on May 25, 2024.

Born on October 7, 1944, to the late John and Anna Mscisz, Louie was a man whose laughter and generosity enriched the lives of all who knew him. After courageously battling Lewy Body Dementia, he departed this world surrounded by the love and warmth of his family.

Louie's journey began in Danvers, where he grew up and eventually met and married the love of his life, Jean (Watson) Mscisz. Their enduring marriage spanned 55 beautiful years, a testament to their unwavering commitment and deep affection for one another. Together, they raised a family that would become Louie's greatest pride: daughters Patricia Prentiss and her husband Rob, Linda Freitas and her husband John, Rosemary Mscisz, and Anna Mscisz. His joy multiplied with the arrival of each of his cherished grandchildren, Elizabeth, Robert, Ashley, and Louis, who brought him immeasurable happiness.

Louie's legacy extends beyond his family to the countless structures he built and the lives he shaped as a self-employed contractor for over 40 years. His skilled hands and keen eye for detail established a reputation of excellence within the community. Louie's professional life was marked not only by his craftsmanship but also by the lasting friendships he forged along the way.

A man of many interests, Louie found solace and adventure at his camp on Sibley Pond in Maine. There, he indulged his passion for hunting and fishing, reveling in the tranquility of nature and the camaraderie of his many friends. His love for the outdoors was matched by his commitment to community service. As a longtime member of the Polish, Russian, Lithuanian American Citizens Club of Danvers, the Danvers Fish and Game Club, and The Touchdown Club, Louie's involvement was driven by his desire to contribute to the community that he held so dear. Prior to its closing, Louie was very active at St. Joseph's Church in Peabody, MA where, among other things, he served as the Chairman of the annual Polish Picnic.

Sports played a significant role in Louie's life, not only as a pastime but as a way to connect with his grandchildren. He was their most enthusiastic supporter, never missing a chance to watch them play and celebrate their accomplishments. His presence on the sidelines was a source of encouragement and pride for his family.

Those who knew Louie would describe him as the embodiment of kindness, generosity, and humor. His quick wit and infectious laugh were a balm to many, and his readiness to lend a helping hand was a hallmark of his character. Louie's life was a reflection of his belief in the goodness of people and the importance of community.

He is survived by his devoted wife, Jean, his loving daughters and their husbands, his adored grandchildren, and his brother Chet. Louie was predeceased by his sisters Eleanor (Mscisz) Walor and Jeanette (Mscisz) Lebel  and brothers Stanley, Fred, and Paul Mscisz.

As we bid farewell to Louis M. Mscisz, we celebrate a life that was rich in love, laughter, and selfless service. His memory will continue to inspire and guide us, and his spirit will forever be woven into the fabric of the community he helped to build. Louie's departure leaves a void that cannot be filled, but his legacy endures in the hearts of those who were fortunate enough to know him. Rest in peace, dear Louie, until we meet again.
