Joan Kuchinski Obituary

Joan (McCarthy) Kuchinski, 84, of Cranbury, passed away on Friday May 24, 2024 at Serenity Hospice in Hamilton. Joan was born in Rahway to Rosemary and Frank McCarthy. She attended and graduated from St. James Grammar School in Woodbridge, St. Mary's High School in Perth Amboy and Georgian Court University in Lakewood. Joan went on to further her education at Jersey City State, Rutgers and Georgian Court University for graduate studies. She taught family and consumer sciences at New Brunswick High School for 39 happy years. While employed, Joan served as the cheerleading advisor, class advisor, director of the peer leadership program and faculty liaison.


Joan was preceded in death by her husband, Robert Kuchinski (2009).


She is survived by her sister, Rosemary Contino and her husband Philip, three nieces, Meridith, Erin and Courtney, great-nieces and nephew Emma, Ava, Lucy and Jake, her step daughter, Janice Comes, two granddaughters, Krista and Janine, one great granddaughter, Emily and her beloved dog, Bailey. Also surviving are many cherished friends.


A memorial mass will be 10:00 am on Saturday June 1, 2024 at Nativity of Our Lord RC Church - 185 Applegarth Rd., Monroe Twp., NJ 08831. Full arrangements have been entrusted to the M. David DeMarco Funeral Home, Inc. - 205 Rhode Hall Rd., Monroe Twp., NJ 08831 - 732-521-0555.
