Lizzie Lucille Rogers, age 94, of Manchester, TN passed away on May 21, 2024, under the care of Alive Hospice in Murfreesboro, TN. She was born on November 28, 1929, in Buch Grove, TN to parents James and Noah Mae Alford, who preceded her in death.

Lizzie is also preceded by her husband of over 40 years, JI Rogers; and daughters, Wanda (Jerry) Haskins, Margaret Rogers, and Charlotte (Ted) Allen.

She is survived by her children, Randall Rogers, and Brenda Rogers Chambers; brother, Joe Alford; grandchildren, Joseph Rogers, Christopher Rogers, Justin Haskins, and Jana Haskins; great grandchildren, Jack, Kylie, Able, Liam, Caleb, and Rachel; 2 great great grandchildren; and a number of cousins and friends.

Lizzie was best known for her nursery she ran for over 20 years in Manchester, Rogers Daycare. Her hobbies included gardening, mostly flowers but occasionally she would grow some crops; sewing quilts for her grandchildren; and driving around in her Cadillac. She was a member of Red Hill Church of Christ and of the Women’s Freemasons Grand Lodge. Members of the local fire department remember her cooking and the many times she would provide food for them. She loved taking care of people, especially her grandkids and great grandchildren, and taking care of her chihuahuas, Ace, Sybil, and Honey.

A visitation will be held at Manchester Funeral Home on Saturday, May 25th, 2024, from 5:00 PM until 8:00 PM. The family will be meeting at Manchester Funeral Home on Wednesday, May 29th, 2024, at 12:30 to leave in procession to Rose Hill Memorial Gardens where Lizzie’s graveside services will be held. In lieu of flowers, memorial donations can be made to the Coffee County Humane Society, the Heart Fund, or to St. Jude’s Children Hospital.
