Justin Claudall Lucas Obituary

With heavy hearts, we announce the passing of Justin Claudall Lucas, a beloved member of the Deville community, who passed away on May 18, 2024, just a week shy of his 79th birthday.

Claudall was a man of the outdoors, finding solace and joy in hunting and the beauty of nature. He was a devoted family man, finding the deepest love for his wife, children, grandchildren, and great-grandchildren. Claudall's playful spirit shone through in his love of pranks and the stories, he would craft for his grandchildren and great-grandchildren, leaving a legacy of laughter and fond memories.

A godly man, Claudall was a pillar of strength and kindness to all who knew him, serving as a wonderful father, grandfather, great-grandfather, uncle, brother, and friend. He served for 21 years at New Hope as the Sunday School Superintendent. His presence will be deeply missed, but his spirit will live on in the hearts of those who had the privilege of knowing him.

Those left to cherish his memory are his wife of 60 years, Loraine Lucas; sons, Chuck Lucas (Ramona), and Randall Lucas (Brenda); brother, Elbert Lee Lucas (Melba); 6 grandchildren, Misty Hollander, Tiffany Cross (Rob), Lacy Lucas, Raquel Lucas, Jessica Martin (Shannon) and Randi Lucas; 9 great-grandchildren, numerous nieces and nephews, and a host of friends and family.

Claudall was preceded in death by his parents, Louis Elbert and Audrey Geneva Lucas, and one grandchild, Aaron Blake Lucas.

The funeral service to honor Claudall's life will be held at New Hope Free Methodist Church in Deville, on May 22, 2024, at 11:00 a.m. with Beau Edwards, Mike Marbat and Fred Summers officiating. The burial will be in Big Island Memorial Gardens.

Visitation will be held on May 21, 2024, beginning at 5:00 pm, and continuing until the time of service on Wednesday at New Hope Free Methodist Church. Let us come together to celebrate the life of this remarkable man and find solace in our shared memories of him.

Pallbearers honored to serve will be Kevin Barrett, Jeff O’Neal, Shawn Fisher, Sammy Fisher, Rodney Belgard, and Marty Lucas. Honorary pallbearers will be Jody Fisher, Irwin Sanchez, Colin Belgard, John Goorge, Allen Edwards, Elbert Wayne Woodson, Justin Fisher, Terry Alwell, James David Deville, and Rabon Fisher.
