Patricia Ann Hutcheson Ayers (Patty)


Patty was born to Guy Neil Hutcheson and Lillian Charlene Hall Hutcheson on January 20th, 1948, in Bowling Green, KY. She passed away on May 18th, 2024, after a tragic accident. Patty was preceded in death by her parents and sister Donna.


Patty met the love of her life, Michael G. Ayers, at Warren County High School, and they were married on December 26th, 1964. She worked while he attended college. After his graduation, the family moved to Louisville. She continued to work while raising her family, eventually retiring from Avon as a District Manager. They had four children: Taryn Gathof (Larry), Lainie Yarmuth (David), Brandon Ayers (Andrea), and Kyle Ayers. Patty, The GIA, had 10 grandchildren who meant the world to her: Kaa Kaa, Ree Ree, Stacah, Jakey, Quinny, Lilli Bell, Ruby Ann, Nolie and step grandchildren Ryder and Rhys. She was a loving Aunt to 10 nieces and nephews, and 16 great nieces and nephews.


Throughout her life, Patty built a legacy of love and family. She loved everyone with her whole heart. She never met a stranger, and was the life of the party. Her nurturing spirit extended to her role as a grandmother, working on puzzles with the grandchildren and attending countless sporting and school events. She was well-known for her culinary talents, showcased every Sunday for family dinner.


Visitation will be from 10:00 am -11:30 am on May 23rd, 2024 with a service to follow at Highlands Funeral Home (3331 Taylorsville Road). She will be buried at Calvary Cemetery on Newburg Road.


Donations can be made to WHAS Crusade for Children or St. Jude. The family will have a Celebration of her Life at a later date.
