Helen Mae Whalen Obituary

It is with great sadness that we announce the passing of Helen Mae Whalen (nee Prue) at Providence Care Hospital in Kingston on Saturday, May 18, 2024 at age 92. She was a beloved wife of the late Burton Whalen, a loving mother to Debbie Richmond (Robert) of Inverary, Mick Whalen (Donna) of Dallas, Texas and Terry Whalen (Becky) of Napanee and a very loving and proud grandmother to Jordan and Josh (Jennie) Whalen. She also loved all of her extended family and friends from Napanee, Tamworth, Belleville and the Waterford Retirement Home. We honour the memories of this remarkable woman whose smiling face, sense of humour with her devilish ways and caring nature made her one of a kind and will be missed deeply. “Gone but never forgotten.” The family will receive friends at the Hannah Funeral Home, in Napanee at 123 Dundas Street West (613-354-3341) on Thursday, May 23 from 9:30-10:45 a.m., followed by Mass of Christian Burial at St. Patrick’s Church, 179 West Street in Napanee at 11:00 a.m. Interment St. Patrick’s Parish Cemetery. Memorial donations made to the Cancer Society or Diabetes Association would be appreciated by the family.
