James D. Kessler, Jr., 69, of Hershey, passed away on Saturday, May 18, 2024.


Born in Derry Township, on December 9, 1954, he was the son of Rose M. Holz Kessler of Elizabethtown and the late James D. Kessler, Sr.


Jim was a retired truck driver and mechanic for Kuntz and Sons, Hanoverdale. He was a member of the Hanoverdale Church of the Brethren, Hummelstown and was an Army National Guard 28th Infantry Division. He enjoyed farming, gardening and was an outdoor enthusiast.


Jim is survived by two sons, James Dillon Kessler and his wife Rebecca of Palmyra and Eric Kessler of Hummelstown; two grandchildren, Emma Kessler, Hummelstown and Kyle Kessler, Palmyra and his former wife, Cathy Johns Kessler of Hershey.


A funeral service will be held Friday, May 24, 2024, at 11:00 AM in the Hanoverdale Church of the Brethren, 577 Hershey Road, Hummelstown. Interment will be in the Hanoverdale Cemetery. Friends will be received at the church Friday from 10:00 AM until time of the service.
