Jerry Keith Lindstrom was born February 6, 1966, in Oakland, Nebraska to Vincent and LaRita Lindstrom. He passed away Wednesday, May 15, 2024, in Hiawatha, Kansas. He was baptized, confirmed, and married in the First Evangelical Lutheran Church in Oakland. He attended rural country school Pleasant Way District #62, Craig, Nebraska, and graduated from Oakland-Craig High School in 1984. Jerry graduated from the University of Nebraska at Lincoln in 1989.
Jerry was united in marriage to Kathy Larson on August 15, 1987. To this union four children were born: Gustaf, Alexandria, Madelyn, and Clara.
Jerry served on the church councils at Trinity Lutheran Church in Bruning, Nebraska, and St. Paul’s Lutheran Church in Falls City, Nebraska, and enjoyed singing in the church choir. He worked for many years in the agriculture and manufacturing industry and was always willing to lend a helping hand to anyone who needed it. He found genuine joy in coaching and watching his children in their many sports throughout the years; a joy that carried into his grandchildren. Jerry was a passionate supporter of the Nebraska Cornhuskers, but most importantly, enjoyed spending his time surrounded by his family and being “Papa” to his four beautiful grandchildren.
He was preceded in death by his parents: Vincent and LaRita Lindstrom; father-in-law, Larry Larson; sister, Joan Wolf; and brother-in-law, Terry Larson.
Survivors include his wife, Kathy Lindstrom of Hiawatha, KS; son, Gustaf (Ruth Kunkle)
Lindstrom of Atchison, KS; daughters: Alexandria (Andrew) Lillie and children Emilia, Grayson, and Rowan of Sabetha, KS, Madelyn (Brenton) Wright and daughter, Eleanor of Cortez, Colorado, and Clara Lindstrom of Hiawatha, KS; sister, Julie (Carl) Easton of Oakland, NE; brothers: Jeff (Jean Redding) Lindstrom of Seattle, WA, Jay (Diane) Lindstrom of Craig, NE, Joel (Bev) Lindstrom of Wahoo, NE; brother-in-law, Don Wolf of Mount Vernon, MO; mother-in-law, Ruth Larson of West Point, NE; brother-in-law, Kevin (Brenda) Larson of West Point, NE; sisters-in-law: Trish (Lee) Fellers of St. Joseph, MO, Vivian Larson of Leawood, KS; and many nieces, nephews, and cousins.
A visitation will be held Thursday, May 23 from 5:00 to 7:00 pm at the Fischer Center in Hiawatha, KS.
Funeral service will be held Friday, May 24 at 3:00 pm at First Evangelical Lutheran Church in Oakland, NE with visitation one hour prior to the service. Burial in the Oakland Cemetery.
