Angela C Johnson Obituary

Angela C. Johnson (80)

December 15, 1943 – May 11, 2024

Angela (Angie) was born in German-occupied Poland during WWII. Her family emigrated to the United States in the late 1940s after surviving the German concentration camps. She became a naturalized U.S. Citizen on April 14, 1964.

Angie was married to Robert (Bob) Johnson for almost 40 years. Making their home in the greater Chicago area, together they raised two daughters, Jennifer and Kristi.

While Angie worked part-time outside the home, her focus in life was on her family and their wellbeing. After losing Bob in April 2015, she and daughter Kristi continued living together until Kristi unexpectedly died of cervical cancer in December 2017 at only 40 years old. Angie reached out to Bob's half-sister, Karen Johnson and her husband Jim Toth of Milwaukee, Wisconsin for guidance and with their help she moved to Howard Village, an assisted living community in St. Francis, Wisconsin, just a few miles from them in the spring of 2018. She lived a quiet life at Howard Village and had good relations with the staff and other residents. Her health took a turn for the worse in mid April with a severe UTI culminating in complications from which she was unable to recover.

Angie peacefully passed away the evening of Saturday, May 11th at the Aurora Zilber Family Hospice in Wauwatosa, Wisconsin.

Preceded in death by Bob and Kristi, she is survived by daughter Jennifer Ernest, son-in-law Eric, and granddaughter Erika of Magna, Utah, and by her brother and sister-in-law, Edward and Bernie Mokijewski of Wayne, Illinois, and sister and brother-in-law, Christine and Kaye Foreman of Perrysville, Indiana, and by many nieces and nephews.
